The Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) will award up to $3 million to industry partners interested in CO2 pipeline infrastructure development in Wyoming.
EORI is looking for companies that have interest in expanding Wyoming’s CO2 pipeline infrastructure to expand capture and storage opportunities in the State.

The Wyoming’s Energy Future Symposium was held on September 15, 2022, and brought industry, government officials, academia and the general public together to examine Wyoming’s energy future.
The Wold Family Foundation and University of Wyoming’s School of Energy Resources sponsored the symposium which was well attended and Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon as featured keynote speaker. Peter Wold, member of the Board of Directors for the Wold Family Foundation, served on the symposium’s steering committee. Mr. Wold holds a special place in the history of EORI as the founding Chairman of the Enhanced Oil Recovery Commission (EORC).

The Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute’s Eric Robertson presented CO2 EOR: Increasing Oil Production While Providing a Lower Carbon Future at the Rockies Petroleum Conference in Cheyenne, WY.
Dr. Robertson’s presentation was focused on CO2 EOR to increase oil production in Wyoming. He shared information on the current state of CO2 EOR in the state and its importance to Wyoming’s total oil production. Eric also discussed Wyoming’s current and potential CO2 sources, CO2 pipelines (capacities and current rates), and CO2 EOR projects.

Dr. Steven M. Carpenter (1964-2022)
Steve was the Director of the Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute from 2015-2022. He was a vital part of the EORI who brought his talents, expertise, and leadership to the agency. He was a dynamic, larger-than-life Director who cultivated an innovative and productive work environment. Steve was a great mentor to many and inspired his employees to give their best. The Institute is grateful for the wisdom and vision Steve brought to EORI as Director.
Steve was passionate about many things. In addition to his work, he was especially happy to talk about his family and his love of football. The walls and shelves of his office were adorned with pictures of his family and grandchildren (13!).
