The Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI) hosted the latest EOR Insights event on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at the True River Cross Commons in Casper, Wyoming.
The session featured Dr. Maziar Arshadi of Piri Technologies, Joe Corning of MT/WY Oil, and Steve Whitaker, EORI Senior Petroleum Geologist who presented an integrated approach to reservoir characterization at Black Bank Field in northern Wyoming, where economic limits were being reached without effective IOR/EOR strategies. Through detailed subsurface mapping of the Muddy reservoir using sequence stratigraphy, combined with core analysis and brine compatibility studies, the team evaluated viable paths forward. Reservoir modeling and simulation were also used to better understand the expected performance of various enhanced oil recovery methods.
