The Bloomberg Law publication announced the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has released the Draft Environmental Impact statement (DEIS) for the Wyoming Pipeline Corridor Initiative (WPCI) and is now open for public comments through July 16, 2020.
The BLM offers preferred alternative CO2 pipeline paths for the WPCI to avoid the most sensitive greater sage-grouse habitat. The BLM states they will find ways to protect wildlife habitat by rerouting the corridors whenever possible.
The WPCI proposal is designed to utilize enhanced oil recovery to produce oil from mature fields while storing CO2 in geologic formations offsetting carbon emissions.
