The U.S. Interior Department will evaluate more than 700,000 acres of land for potential auction of which most, 560,000 acres, is in Wyoming.
The sales planned for early 2022 will offer parcels that had been scheduled to be offered earlier this year before the Biden administration ordered a pause on new oil and gas leases during Biden’s first week in office.
In compliance with a recent court order, the Biden administration will resume lease auctions.
